About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure battery systems comply with safety standards and regulations including UN38.3 and ISO 26262
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses to identify potential safety issues
  • Stay abreast of global regulations affecting electric vehicle batteries
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regional and international standards
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation such as safety plans and hazard analyses
  • Prepare and submit documentation required for regulatory approvals and certifications
  • Collaborate with testing teams to design and execute safety tests for battery systems
  • Analyze test data and implement improvements based on safety performance
  • Work with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate safety features into designs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to battery safety

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in battery safety engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to battery systems
  • Experience with safety analysis tools and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related engineering field
  • Experience specifically within the electric vehicle industry
