Battery Integration Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead battery certification and compliance programs including UN38.3, UL1642, and IEC 62133
• Own creation and maintenance of customer-facing technical documentation such as data sheets and product specifications
• Support cell-level testing activities and provide integration perspectives for test plans and data interpretation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Test Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Sales and Business Development teams
• Act as a technical liaison with external testing labs and certification bodies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in battery engineering or product engineering within the lithium-ion industry
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion cell testing and characterization
• Direct experience with battery certification standards (UN38.3, UL1642, IEC 62133)
• Experience managing technical documentation (TDS, SDS)
• Proven ability to serve as a customer-facing technical resource
• Strong project management skills managing multiple work streams

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline
• Experience with silicon anode or advanced lithium-ion chemistries
• Hands-on experience with battery pack integration or cell-to-pack assembly
• Experience leading small production or assembly teams
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations (IATA DGR, 49 CFR)
