Battery Hardware Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework, and modify prototype battery packs and modules
• Perform precision spot welding, resistance welding, and soldering
• Integrate Low-Voltage (LV) and High-Voltage (HV) wiring harnesses and connectors
• Support validation tests including pressure/vacuum leak testing and insulation testing
• Manage battery lab maintenance, safety compliance, and equipment calibration
• Set up and monitor battery test equipment such as cyclers and environmental chambers

Requirements

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience with battery cells (lithium-ion preferred)
• Proven experience with precision resistance welding and spot welding
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Experience using digital multimeters, insulation testers (Hi-Pot), and leak testing equipment
• Deep understanding of lithium-ion and high-voltage safety hazards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with battery management systems (BMS)
• Basic PCB troubleshooting and rework skills
• Familiarity with battery cyclers (e.g. Chroma) and environmental chambers
• Experience with basic CAD or rapid prototyping in R&D environments
