Battery Engineer - Electrical

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system architecture including high- and low-voltage distribution and protection systems
• Create electrical schematics for battery pack systems, sensors, contactors, and control electronics
• Select and integrate electronics hardware such as current sensors, power electronics, and microcontrollers
• Perform thermal and power dissipation analysis to ensure reliable operation
• Support circuit design, simulation, and bench testing for measurement and control
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards like ISO 26262 and UL
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate designs
• Develop validation test plans, analyze data, and troubleshoot electrical issues

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in system-level design for lithium-ion battery packs
• 4+ years of engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors
• Proficiency in electrical system design and schematic capture
• Knowledge of electronics hardware thermal management and power dissipation analysis
• Experience with component selection for high-voltage and low-voltage systems
• Familiarity with high-voltage safety standards, EMC/EMI, and grounding/shielding
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
• Hands-on experience with battery management systems (BMS) or embedded electronics
• Background in functional safety (ISO 26262)
• Experience with project leadership or cross-functional technical coordination
• Familiarity with mathematical modeling of batteries
