Basestocks Synthetics & Intermediates Technologist - Advanced

Responsibilities

• Serve as a global technical expert in formulation using Base Stocks and Synthetic products
• Partner with marketing, commercial, and application development teams to demonstrate product performance
• Provide technical leadership to strengthen competitive positioning and support business growth
• Act as a primary technical contact for internal stakeholders, OEMs, and industry partners
• Advise on formulation questions, base stock molecule selection, and product proof-of-performance
• Identify technical trends, competitive offerings, and new business opportunities
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance to early-career professionals

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• 5+ years of experience in lubricants value chains
• Strong knowledge of lubricant formulation, Base Stocks, and Synthetic product applications
• Understanding of lubricant performance specifications and testing
• Ability to design and interpret experiments using scientific method principles
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and commercial teams

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• Expertise in organic chemistry fundamentals and molecular structure behavior
• Experience with lubricant testing, specification, and method development
• Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) strategy and application
• Experience with industry trade association engagement
