Base Maintenance Group Supervisor I

Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance for the Shredder Line, mobile equipment, and yard systems.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of complex mechanical and hydraulic failures, conducting root cause analysis.
• Manage preventive maintenance plans using CMMS/UPTime systems to ensure accurate records and compliance.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, downtime, and preventive maintenance completion.
• Coordinate daily activities for technicians and contractors, ensuring resource availability and safety compliance.
• Support spare parts management, including critical spares identification and warehouse coordination.
• Assist Engineering teams with the evaluation, installation, and startup of new or modified equipment.

Requirements

• Advanced technical knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems in industrial or steel manufacturing environments.
• Experience maintaining industrial mobile equipment such as material handlers, forklifts, and trucks.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and hydraulic failures.
• Experience using CMMS systems for work orders, inspections, and maintenance tracking.
• Working knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration or oil analysis).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train technical teams and work under pressure.
• Proficiency with computers and Excel for reporting on materials and downtime.
• Availability for a Monday to Friday shift with flexibility for on-call support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with shredder lines, conveyors, or separation equipment.
• Knowledge of SAP material codification and warehouse operations.
• Willingness to participate in international travel for benchmarking and knowledge sharing.
