About the Company

Compass Coffee was founded in 2014 by two Marines who became obsessed with the quest for the perfect cup. What began as a desire to unlock the secret to perfect coffee grew into something much more significant: the realization that coffee is a ritual that brings people together. Compass Coffee has since expanded to 16 cafes in and around DC, maintaining a relentless commitment to ethical sourcing, masterful blending, and peak roasting.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide legendary customer service
• Craft drinks that uphold high quality standards
• Engage and connect with customers to build relationships
• Taste coffee daily to expand palette and knowledge
• Support team members in upholding the company mission
• Follow cleaning standards to ensure cafes are fresh, clean, and safe
• Prepare food and drinks according to standard or customized requests

Requirements

• Ability to learn quickly and excitement for coffee education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving mindset and receptiveness to feedback
• Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance
• Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
