Bare Metal Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware deployment plan for new data center sites, including timelines, scope, and resources
• Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, construction, and engineering teams
• Supervise and participate in receiving, racking, cabling, and powering hardware
• Perform first-line troubleshooting for hardware, cabling, optics, and Linux-based hosts
• Conduct functional checks and acceptance testing before production handoff
• Document installation steps, asset data, and test results

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or hardware deployment
• Hands-on experience with server, storage, and network hardware installation
• Experience with structured cabling, power distribution, and cooling requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, cabling, and connectivity in live environments
• Basic working knowledge of Linux-based systems and command-line troubleshooting
• Ability to read technical documentation, rack elevations, and wiring diagrams
• Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting GPU, HPC, or AI infrastructure
• Familiarity with high-speed networking, InfiniBand, or RoCE
• Experience with hardware diagnostics and firmware updates
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Experience in hyperscale or colocation data center environments
