About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members
- Prepare staff rosters and control labour costs
- Oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service delivery
- Develop and maintain beverage menus, signature cocktails, and seasonal offerings
- Manage beverage cost, inventory, and stock control processes
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in bar operations within a premium hospitality environment
- Minimum 2 years' leadership or supervisory experience managing bar teams
- Experience with beverage menu development and inventory management
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (or NZ equivalent)
- LCQ and DM Certification from New Zealand
- Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Legal working rights in New Zealand
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management
- First Aid certification
- Multilingual skills
