Bar Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members
• Prepare staff rosters and control labour costs
• Oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service delivery
• Develop and maintain beverage menus, signature cocktails, and seasonal offerings
• Manage beverage cost, inventory, and stock control processes
• Ensure compliance with all licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in bar operations within a premium hospitality environment
• Minimum 2 years' leadership or supervisory experience managing bar teams
• Experience with beverage menu development and inventory management
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (or NZ equivalent)
• LCQ and DM Certification from New Zealand
• Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays
• Legal working rights in New Zealand

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management
• First Aid certification
• Multilingual skills
