About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment adhering to sanitation and food safety standards
- Assist with managing kitchen inventory and reporting shortages or discrepancies
- Operate and train others on kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, slicers, and immersion blenders
- Ensure accurate portion sizes and high-quality presentation of all dishes
- Manage cooking times to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Follow all safety and health regulations regarding food handling and storage
Requirements
- 3 years of food preparation experience required
- Proficient knowledge of various cooking techniques (baking, broiling, grilling, sauté, roasting, etc.)
- Proficient English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and adapt to changing tasks
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification
- Proficiency in Spanish
