About the role
Responsibilities
- Produce all hot and cold food items for restaurant and catering functions
- Maintain control charts of all food items produced
- Ensure food is prepared according to Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards
- Date and rotate food containers per Standard Operating Procedures
- Practice safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Control food waste, loss, and usage
- Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation
- Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments
Requirements
- Ability to read BEO
- Experience on carving, pasta, omelet, and stir fry stations
- Ability to cut, trim, and bone meat
- Ability to bake, broil, sauté, and steam various foods
- Ability to measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Food Handler Card
- Basic English verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward
