Band Weld Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain automatic band cutters and welders to produce finished band saw blades.
• Receive coil stock and cut to proper size based on cut tags for multiple weld lines.
• Adjust welding machine clamps for blade width, thickness, and tooth spacing, and set time and temperature controls.
• Perform visual checks for proper weld, alignment, and tooth spacing.
• Use grinding wheels or belt grinders to remove welding flash and shape welded gullets.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing as required.
• Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations, and practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers.
• Proficiency with mathematical skills, including the use of decimals.
• Ability to perform light physical effort, including lifting, pushing, or pulling 5 to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role.
