About the role
Responsibilities
- Analyze firearm evidence, ballistic reports, projectile trajectories, ammunition data, and autopsy findings
- Review scene photographs, surveillance footage, and witness statements for incident reconstruction
- Author clear, well-supported, and objective expert reports detailing findings and methodologies
- Provide credible deposition and trial testimony to explain complex ballistic findings to legal professionals
Requirements
- Extensive background in forensic ballistics, firearms examination, or crime laboratory analysis
- Prior experience providing sworn testimony in depositions or trial settings as a disclosed expert
- Expert-level knowledge of firearm mechanics, ammunition characteristics, and trajectory analysis
- Strong ability to interpret complex forensic evidence and communicate findings to non-technical audiences
- Exceptional writing skills and ability to meet strict legal deadlines
