Bakery Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake artisan sourdough bread and various house-made breads following established standards
• Assist in daily production, catering, and events production
• Maintain the sourdough starter and ensure production areas and tools are clean and organized
• Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining accurate inventory counts
• Implement safe working practices including proper cleaning, storage, and product rotation
• Organize and restock baked goods in the Market and Centerline Café
• Cross-train on the pastry side to provide production support as needed
• Work occasional early mornings, late evenings, and weekends to support special events and catering

Requirements

• Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds
• Basic software skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) or willingness to learn
• Strong communication and social skills, including active listening and empathy
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, or loud noises
• Growth mindset and a results-driven work ethic
