About the role
Responsibilities
- Preparing and baking goods from scratch
- Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
- Creating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts
- Wrapping and dating all baked goods in accordance with production schedule
- Ensuring consistent quality standard in food preparation including special dietary constraints
- Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
- Supervising night shift employees, providing mentorship and training
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience
- Current Food Safe certificate
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Large scale camp cooking experience
- Red Seal certification
- Experience producing weekly inventories
- Previous supervisory experience
