About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake goods from scratch
- Restock pastry shelves and maintain fresh supply of baked goods
- Create and follow menus for quality baked goods and desserts
- Wrap and date all baked goods according to production schedule
- Ensure consistent food quality and consideration for special dietary constraints
- Maintain proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitation
- Comply with food hygiene regulations and Food Safety Act
- Supervise, mentor, and train night shift employees
Requirements
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or culinary education leading to Red Seal
- FoodSafe Level I minimum
- Minimum 3 years of cooking and baking experience in hotel or institutional environments
- Experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests
- Prior supervisory experience
- Ability to obtain 80% or higher on mandatory WHMIS test
Preferred Qualifications
- SafeCheck advanced food safety certification
- HACCP certification
