About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake goods from scratch
  • Restock pastry shelves and maintain fresh supply of baked goods
  • Create and follow menus for quality baked goods and desserts
  • Wrap and date all baked goods according to production schedule
  • Ensure consistent food preparation quality and accommodate special dietary constraints
  • Maintain proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Comply with food hygiene regulations and the Food Safety Act
  • Supervise, mentor, and train night shift employees

Requirements

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or culinary education leading to Red Seal
  • FoodSafe Level I certification
  • Minimum 3 years of cooking and baking experience in hotel or institutional environments
  • Experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to obtain 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test

Preferred Qualifications

  • SafeCheck advanced food safety certification
  • HACCP certification
