Baker I

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough for breads, rolls, bagels, pizzas, and other bakery items
• Bake a variety of products including cookies, cakes, muffins, pies, and desserts
• Prepare icings, fillings, toppings, and sauces
• Package and check finished products for quality and accuracy before delivery
• Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, fryers, and scales
• Clean equipment and maintain a safe, organized work area
• Load carts and assist with distributing products across campus dining locations

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow directions
• Dependability and strong teamwork skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a bakery, patisserie, or food service setting
• One year of experience in an institutional or commercial bakery
• Experience with high-volume production and order verification
