About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervising night shift employees, providing mentorship and training
- Preparing and baking goods from scratch
- Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a fresh supply of baked goods
- Creating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts
- Ensuring consistent quality standards and consideration to special dietary constraints
- Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
- Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and work areas
Requirements
- Minimum FoodSafe Level I
- Minimum 3 years of baking experience in a hotel or institutional environment
- Proven experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests
- Prior supervisory experience
- Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and health assessments
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to obtain 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test
