Baker Assistant

Responsibilities

• Bake-off scones and prepare simple glazes, fillings, and toppings following company recipes
• Frost, fill, and decorate doughnuts, muffins, scones, and other items according to quality standards
• Maintain work areas, including mixers, microwaves, tables, shelves, and floors, in a neat and hygienic manner
• Sanitize baking utensils, tools, and machinery and report malfunctions immediately
• Assist bakers with lifting heavy sacks of flour and operating baking machinery
• Prepare special and catering orders while meeting production deadlines
• Package doughnuts and pastries for wholesale distribution
• Strictly adhere to food safety laws and standards
• Communicate with the team to foster a positive work environment

Requirements

• Ability to follow recipes and verbal/written instructions
• Ability to read and understand baking measurements
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to reach overhead and at or above shoulder height
• Fine motor dexterity
• Must be 18 years or older
• Food Handler Certification (must be obtained within 90 days of start)
• Legal right to work in the United States
