About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct case management to clients released on bail, including conducting intakes at court and performing risk assessments.
- Interview clients and inmates at provincial detention facilities and courthouses to ensure program suitability.
- Develop and implement case management plans, assisting clients in establishing goals and preparing discharge plans.
- Connect clients with community supports such as addiction treatment, employment opportunities, and life skills instruction.
- Monitor client behavior, intervene in crisis situations, and provide emotional support and advocacy.
- Maintain accurate case files, daily logs, and monthly/quarterly reports in compliance with confidentiality procedures.
- Liaise with court officials, Crown Attorneys, police, and defense lawyers regarding client care.
- Coordinate with community partners and government social service providers to secure resources for clients.
Requirements
- Diploma in the social services field.
- Experience in Correctional & Justice Services (minimum 2 years working with correctional clients preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to undergo successful background checks, including vulnerable sector screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in corrections case management.
- Knowledge of the local community and social service landscape.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention techniques.
- Proficiency in French.
