Backend/AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Integrate and optimize LLM calls for structured extraction, form filling, and document understanding tasks
• Improve API design and pre-processing algorithms including chunking and structured extraction
• Build and improve document processing pipelines for PDFs and spreadsheets at scale
• Experiment with new techniques to improve LLM accuracy and reduce latency
• Build internal tooling and evaluations to analyze failure cases
• Work with founders and customers to shape product direction and engineering strategy

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building real-world applications
• Experience integrating LLMs into production systems
• Exceptional proficiency in Python
• Ability to build custom tools like Streamlit apps for testing
• Quantitative approach to building products with ability to debug and iterate fast
• High agency and a high bar for quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience founding a company or building products at early stages
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or building AI agents
• Deep interest in the latest developments in ML/AI
