Backend Team Lead (Node.js)

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage backend engineers through regular one-to-one sessions, feedback, and individual development plans
• Actively write, review, and refactor code to directly contribute to building and improving systems
• Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban) to ensure team alignment and best practices
• Design technical solutions and make key decisions for system enhancements and architecture optimization
• Resolve technical debt and optimize system flows, including data cleaning and restructuring
• Assign tasks and balance workloads within the team to ensure efficient delivery
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to adopt new technologies and drive company-wide initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 8+ years of professional backend development experience
• 3+ years of experience in leadership positions
• Strong expertise in Node.js and modern web development
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, infrastructure, and system design
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with RESTful APIs, message brokers, and secure development practices
• Upper-intermediate or advanced English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CI/CD, microservices, and cloud-based development
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
• Deep understanding of data structures, coding patterns, and algorithms
