Backend Software Engineer

BJAK is a leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, dedicated to helping people plan, save, and grow their money through smarter financial tools. The company is expanding into a comprehensive AI Neobank ecosystem covering spending, saving, investing, and more.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel, and financial services
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, and notifications
• Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
• Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
• Build practical, auditable systems ready for regulated financial products

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
• Understanding of security, reliability, data quality, and operational edge cases
• Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk
• Strong English communication skills
• Must be based in Thailand

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking, or regulated products
