Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable software systems that support hardware design, manufacturing, and automated testing
• Build out data pipelines to drive decision-making across cross-functional teams
• Own backend development for internal tools spanning test infrastructure, manufacturing, and business intelligence
• Build integrations with hardware design, procurement, and production platforms such as Altium, Arena, and NetSuite
• Automate manual workflows to increase operational velocity across engineering, production, and satellite operations
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and technicians to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions
• Own projects through the full lifecycle: architecture, design, implementation, test, deployment, and iteration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with Python
• Experience designing and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs
• Strong foundation in working with SQL databases (e.g., Postgres)
• Experience deploying backend services to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Proficiency with Linux, shell tools, and Git
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container-based deployment strategies
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by export regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware development platforms like Altium, Arena, NetSuite, First Resonance, or Manufacturo
• Background in manufacturing, logistics, or aerospace systems
• Familiarity with automated test strategies and embedded system validation
• Experience developing for real-time telemetry systems or ground control interfaces
• Experience with hardware-software interfaces, including instrumentation and schematics
