Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed microservice components within Addepar’s data-intensive calculation engine
• Scale Java-based calculation infrastructure to support 100x larger workloads using time series analytics database technologies
• Participate in architectural decision-making regarding data consistency, throughput, speed, operability, and cost
• Profile and optimize system efficiency within a highly concurrent platform
• Develop next-generation tooling and CI/CD systems to empower engineering teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented programming
• Experience with Java and Python
• Proficiency with SQL, relational databases, and key-value stores
• Experience with SQS and distributed systems
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with systems-level programming
• Proficiency in basic shell scripting
• Experience working with large-scale, data-intensive applications
