Backend Quality Engineer (Automation)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend automation frameworks for GraphQL, REST APIs, and Microservices
• Conduct POCs to determine the feasibility of automating backend test cases
• Develop automation scripts and integrate frameworks with CI/CD pipelines
• Execute automated test cases for regression cycles and report results
• Evaluate regression and smoke test runs to identify automatable test cases
• Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality in Git repositories
• Document test frameworks and provide guidance to the functional QE team
• Collect and report automation coverage, utilization, and ROI metrics to stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering
• Proven experience with automation frameworks for Microservices, GraphQL, and REST APIs
• Strong hands-on experience in Java, JavaScript, and Gherkin
• Experience testing backend APIs using Postman and verifying JSON payloads
• Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, and AWS
• Experience using Katalon Studio and Karate Framework
• Proficiency with tools like Jenkins, Selenium WebDriver, and Cucumber
• Expertise in SDLC and Agile methodologies
