Backend .NET Engineer

Responsibilities

• Author and refine OpenSpec artifacts, including proposals, requirement specs, and design notes, to serve as the source of truth.
• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Manage data access layers using SQL and Entity Framework Core.
• Utilize AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery while maintaining high code quality.
• Write automated tests and manage deployments through CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews of both specifications and code.
• Collaborate with product and QA teams to translate ambiguous requirements into precise technical specifications.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in the .NET stack, specifically C# and ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Proven experience designing REST APIs and working with relational databases (SQL, EF Core).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and version control using Git.
• Experience with cloud platforms, with a preference for Azure.
• Experience using AI-native development tools to drive efficient workflows.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a spec-driven development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with OpenSpec or comparable Spec-Driven Development (SDD) workflows.
• Experience working with AI-augmented development frameworks like GitHub Spec Kit.
