Backend JVM Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of designing, developing, testing, and releasing software into production
• Architect resilient and scalable components leveraging established architectural styles and patterns
• Develop new features using the JVM stack
• Create unit, component, integration, and automation tests to guarantee feature reliability
• Review pull requests daily to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team
• Deploy new features to production daily using CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in an occasional on-call rotation
• Contribute to Architecture Decision Records to propose new techniques, patterns, and tools

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in backend development with JVM-based technologies (Java, Kotlin, or Scala)
• Proven track record of delivering scalable, high-performance backend systems in production
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis
• Experience with distributed systems such as SQS or RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of Kafka for event-driven systems
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Strong ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure APIs
• Experience working in agile software development teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
• Proficiency in reactive programming
• Experience in fintech or product-led companies
