Backend Engineer - Search

Responsibilities

• Develop a state-of-the-art search engine using Node.js with TypeScript
• Manage large volumes of data using Google BigQuery and integrate with BI systems and data platforms
• Build and improve high-traffic APIs ensuring minimal latency
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, QA, and analysts to improve features
• Make architectural decisions in collaboration with the Tech Lead and explore new technologies

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development
• 2+ years of experience building scalable APIs (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Go)
• Practical experience with a typed programming language like TypeScript
• Solid knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases
• Ability to write structured, efficient, and maintainable code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in an English-speaking, agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
• Experience with dbt for data modeling
• Experience with MPP Data Warehouses like Redshift or BigQuery
• Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring solutions
• Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP) and orchestration (Dagster, Airflow)
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks
• Experience with Machine Learning models or LLM-based systems
