Backend Engineer - SDE2

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems that power cross-border payment products end to end
• Architect modular, performant, and production-ready RESTful services and microservices
• Build resilient, fault-tolerant infrastructure capable of handling millions of transactions with high availability
• Drive database design and optimization across distributed systems to ensure speed and reliability at scale
• Shape engineering culture and architecture decisions as an early backend hire

Requirements

• 3–6 years of backend development experience, ideally at a product-led startup or fintech
• Deep experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Python, or Go
• High ownership mindset with a bias for execution and ability to handle ambiguity
• Experience building for scale rather than just maintaining existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in payments infrastructure or regulated fintech
• Experience working with high-throughput distributed systems
