Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy applications platforms
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code ensuring high performance and scalability
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Optimize backend systems to handle large volumes of data and high traffic
• Maintain thorough documentation of system architecture, design decisions, and API specifications

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Python or Java
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with distributed systems fundamentals (scalability, availability, fault-tolerance)
• Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or Google Pub/Sub
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools like New Relic, ELK, or Grafana

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile methodology
• Experience in building products at a product-based company
• Experience in the eCommerce, Fashion, or Lifestyle domains
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or similar frontend technologies
