Backend Engineer, Kasten

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and testing of significant features in the Veeam Kasten product using Go
• Develop features related to the backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems
• Integrate Veeam Kasten with other Veeam products to expand platform capabilities
• Collaborate with distributed teams across different time zones and regions
• Contribute to the cloud-native open-source community
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and provide feedback to fellow engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise solutions in a high-level language such as C++, Java, or C#
• Strong willingness to code in Go
• Proven experience with distributed systems concepts and client-server architectures
• Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, multi-threaded, and concurrent systems
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency
• University degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience developing in Go
• Experience developing for containers, container schedulers, and orchestration platforms
• Experience developing complex systems with AI coding agent tools at scale
• Active contribution to OSS projects in the Kubernetes/Cloud-Native ecosystem
• Participation in CNCF Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) or Kubernetes Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
