Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own critical system components by turning complex requirements into robust, scaled solutions
• Build and iterate on high-scale document build systems to enable universal indexing
• Architect and implement performance-tuning solutions to minimize latency and maximize throughput
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for building backend and API systems
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Working experience with Kafka, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, and/or Redis
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Proven experience leading software development projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building agentic systems or LLM enabled products
• Frequent user of AI products like Cursor or Claude Code during the development lifecycle
