Backend Engineer

About the Company

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI. We are singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else by rethinking every layer of the stack, from power acquisition to data center design and operation.

Responsibilities

• Own the observability platform, including data pipelines, decoration engines, and healthcheck frameworks
• Define and build the API surface for infrastructure to manage the hyperscale fleet
• Build the production control plane for unified machine management and distributed command execution
• Maintain fleet state as the single source of truth across provisioning and operations
• Integrate new hardware into the platform using ZTP, DHCP, and DNS

Requirements

• Experience shipping production services that other teams depend on at scale
• Ability to design robust APIs and avoid leaky abstractions
• Proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and incident management
• Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly and navigate ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and data pipeline engineering
• Knowledge of time-series observability stacks (Prometheus, Thanos, VictoriaMetrics)
• Experience with workflow orchestration engines (Temporal, Cadence)
• Familiarity with BMC/Redfish or hardware telemetry
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and Postgres
