Backend Engineer, Developer SDKs

Responsibilities

• Act as the Golang expert on the team, ensuring SDK experiences are idiomatic and meet community needs
• Utilize Node.js expertise to improve the in-house code generation framework
• Collaborate with various Stripe teams to release new APIs within the SDKs and optimize release processes
• Help lead the API design process by providing guidance on powerful and intuitive abstractions
• Support the developer community by engaging with users on open-source GitHub repositories
• Add support for new language features and streamline the API authoring process at Stripe
• Mentor and provide technical support to other team members

Requirements

• 6+ years of engineering experience across a wide range of products
• 3+ years of experience as a Golang software engineer
• Strong interest in working with multiple programming languages
• A deep passion for API design and improving developer experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building libraries and/or SDKs
• Proficiency in PHP and Ruby
• Knowledge of OpenAPI specification and Protobuf
