Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Help design and build resilient backend services and APIs
• Partner with senior engineers in designing systems and architectures for reliability and scale
• Develop data pipelines from ingestion to enrichment to delivery
• Build reliability and test coverage into the code itself
• Improve performance, scalability, and observability across the stack
• Work closely with data/ML to productize AI-powered agents end to end
• Participate in design reviews, pairing, and shared engineering best practices
• Optimize for real impact, customer outcomes, and fast iteration

Requirements

• 3+ years building and operating production backend systems
• Experience with Scala, Python, or functional / JVM languages
• Familiarity with distributed systems, data modeling, and high-volume data flows
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment without heavy process or QA buffers
• Bias toward shipping, measuring, and refining over over-architecting
