Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build resilient APIs, libraries, and services for financial services including clearing, settlement, lending, and trading
• Own functionality and scalability features from initial inception through deployment and customer integration
• Document and expose functionality to UI, third-party developers, and internal/external tooling
• Collaborate with global engineering teams in the U.S. to ensure technical requirement alignment across time zones
• Provide technical mentorship to peers through code reviews and best practice education

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend experience with languages such as Golang, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, or Python
• Strong proficiency in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA)
• Proficiency with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
• Strong experience in RESTful API design and unit/functional testing
• Experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD tools, and development workflows (JIRA, Confluence)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
• Interest in cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry
• Experience developing or supporting financial accounting systems (e.g., general ledger)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
• Familiarity with Containers, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Background in the financial industry, specifically digital wallets, clearing, settlement, or trading systems
