Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and own high-velocity services that power the creator ecosystem and internal content operation tools
• Architect and develop fundamental backend services and APIs supporting content delivery and real-time engagement
• Build and optimize large-scale distributed systems for media processing, storage, and high-concurrency distribution
• Design data infrastructure to support real-time analytics and machine learning recommendation systems
• Implement robust content ecosystem and safety mechanisms to maintain platform health and user trust
• Create scalable real-time services for social features including messaging, notifications, and live interactions

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience with a track record of scaling distributed systems
• Deep proficiency in at least one major backend language (Go, Java, or Python)
• Strong system design skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka) and caching systems (e.g., Redis)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and high-traffic service design
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with a focus on shipping MVPs quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with media streaming protocols or processing pipelines
• Knowledge of recommendation systems or machine learning infrastructure
• Background in real-time communication technologies
• Previous experience building social platforms or content-driven products
