Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of designing, developing, testing, and releasing software into production
• Architect resilient and scalable components using JVM stack and established architectural patterns
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product owners to build high-quality products
• Develop unit, component, and integration tests to ensure feature reliability
• Perform daily pull request reviews and contribute to Architecture Decision Records
• Deploy new features daily using CI/CD pipelines and participate in an occasional on-call rotation

Requirements

• 2+ years of backend development experience with JVM-based technologies (Java, Kotlin, or Scala)
• Proven track record of delivering scalable, high-performance backend systems in production
• Proficiency with SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis
• Experience with Spring Boot and building secure APIs
• Knowledge of Kafka for event-driven systems
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Experience working in agile software development teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in reactive programming
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience in fintech or product-led companies
