Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build high-traffic web applications using PHP (Laravel)
• Develop internal and external RESTful APIs and background jobs
• Participate in application architecture decisions and technology research
• Lead technical conception for features supporting redesigned business processes
• Take full ownership of features from code commit to production operation
• Ensure stability, performance, and long-term maintainability of code
• Deploy code via CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab) to AWS Elastic Container Service
• Monitor applications using Datadog and Sentry

Requirements

• Excellent programming skills in PHP 8 (Laravel)
• Experience in designing and implementing E2E, integration, and unit tests
• Expertise in designing, securing, and scaling RESTful APIs
• Experience with AWS, Git, and Valkey or similar
• Practical experience in relational database design and performance optimization (e.g., MySQL 8)
• Passion for writing structured, efficient, and maintainable code
• Ability to work in an English-speaking environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQS and ECS Fargate
• Experience with YII 1.1
