Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build high-traffic web applications with PHP (Laravel)
• Build internal & external RESTful APIs and Background Jobs
• Engage in application architecture decisions and explore new technologies
• Lead technical conception of features for business processes
• Take full ownership of features from code commit to production health and performance
• Ship code using CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab) to AWS Elastic Container Service
• Monitor applications using Datadog and Sentry
• Participate in regular Tech talks and agile team processes

Requirements

• Excellent coding skills in PHP 8 (Laravel)
• Experience designing and implementing E2E, integration, and unit tests
• Expertise in designing, securing, and scaling RESTful APIs
• Experience with AWS, Git, Valkey, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with relational database design and performance optimization (MySQL 8)
• Passion for writing well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code
• Ability to work in an English-speaking environment

• Experience with SQS
• Experience with ECS Fargate
• Experience with YII 1.1
