Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services that power supply chain workflows
• Develop event-driven pipelines that process high-throughput logistics data
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party logistics providers, ERPs, and warehouse management systems
• Own and evolve data models for shipments, inventory, and fulfillment nodes
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in production systems
• Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) to build intelligent workflows
• Collaborate with Product and domain experts to translate complexity into technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture decisions and perform rigorous code reviews

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in backend engineering
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations-intensive domains preferred
• Strong command of Java (Spring Boot) or equivalent JVM-based frameworks
• Proficiency in Python is a strong plus
• Experience designing systems for real-time data ingestion (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
• Proficiency with relational databases like PostgreSQL
• Understanding of distributed systems trade-offs (consistency, availability, latency)
• Experience with third-party API integrations
