Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain databases that store benchmarking, target setting, performance, actuals, and initiative data
• Develop and maintain data connections to internal and external sources, ensuring reliable and secure integrations
• Develop data system architecture to enable automation of data pipelines, including transformation of data structures and API integrations
• Implement and monitor data governance practices, including quality control, security, and access management
• Work with analysts and business teams to structure data to support performance insights
• Optimize database performance and scalability to accommodate evolving business needs
• Map and optimize workflows to ensure efficient data reporting practices and reliability
• Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to align database solutions with enterprise standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5–10 years of experience in database development, data engineering, or systems integration
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational database platforms
• Demonstrated experience in ETL processes, including building and maintaining data pipelines and API integrations
• Knowledge of database platforms and ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with applying AI/ML techniques to enhance data integration and quality checks
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and security best practices
