Backend Developer

BJAK is a leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia on a mission to help people plan, save, and grow their money. We are expanding into a comprehensive financial ecosystem including spending, investing, and traveling.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and APIs for onboarding, payments, cards, transfers, and KYC flows
• Design reliable systems to support real customer transactions and operational workflows
• Integrate with financial partners, payment providers, and AI services
• Own backend quality regarding reliability, security, latency, and data integrity

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience in production systems
• Deep understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, and event-driven architectures
• Experience building services used by real customers at meaningful scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or fraud/risk domains
• Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, correctness, and scalability
