Backend Code Reviewer Intern

Responsibilities

• Review backend code submissions to identify bugs, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks
• Ensure code adheres to clean architecture, coding standards, and best practices
• Review pull requests and provide constructive, actionable feedback to developers
• Verify API design, error handling, validation, and logging practices
• Check for proper database design and query optimization
• Collaborate with engineering leads and developers to resolve review comments and maintain high engineering standards

Requirements

• Strong understanding of backend development concepts and Data Structures and Algorithms
• Proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js, Python, Java, or Go
• Good knowledge of REST APIs and authentication protocols (JWT/OAuth)
• Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and Pull Request workflows
• Strong debugging and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with frameworks such as Express.js, FastAPI, or Spring Boot
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications
• Understanding of system design fundamentals and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience contributing to personal or open-source backend projects
