Azure Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake
• Develop and optimize data workflows and transformations using SQL, Python, and PySpark
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions
• Implement and manage data models across various storage and processing layers
• Ensure high performance and reliability of data systems through tuning and optimization
• Maintain code quality and version control using Git or equivalent tools
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated with the latest Azure data engineering trends

Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience specializing in Azure-based solutions
• Proficient in SQL with expertise in advanced query writing, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Skilled in Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks
• Experienced in PySpark for large-scale distributed data processing
• Well-versed in data modeling including relational, dimensional, and big data models
• Familiar with version control tools like Git
• Knowledgeable in performance optimization techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and caching

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
