AVP, University Advancement

Responsibilities

• Lead an efficient university advancement team through strategic planning and oversight of constituency-based fundraising programs.
• Manage and coordinate all individual and event fundraising activities.
• Provide leadership and management to campus-wide development staff in consultation with university deans.
• Raise significant philanthropic support by maintaining a personal major and principal gift portfolio.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and institutional innovation.
• Build large-scale partnerships and manage complex, multi-year solicitations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, communications, or a related field.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience as a development professional in a complex advancement operation.
• Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in securing $1M+ gifts.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain eligibility under university driving policies.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% and work evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field.
• Supervisory experience leading groups of five or more direct reports.
• Extensive experience with complex advancement operations specifically within higher education.
