AVP, Underwriting Support Manager, Inland Marine

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of underwriting assistants, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
• Monitor key metrics such as policy issuance and endorsement statistics to maintain service quality standards
• Establish and optimize workflows to reduce manual processes and increase operational efficiencies
• Partner with Underwriters to ensure the support team aligns with operational goals and standards
• Collaborate with business unit leaders on projects to enhance growth within the Inland Marine unit
• Assist in managing internal and external audit processes to ensure regulatory compliance
• Support underwriting assistants with quotes, binders, and policy issuance workflows
• Manage monthly premium bookings and oversee overdue premium processes

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Operations Manager in commercial insurance
• Expertise in Inland Marine is preferred
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Nitro PDF
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences
