AVP-Ratings (Municipal Supported Products)

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of municipal supported credits, including cash collateralized and credit enhanced housing transactions.
• Conduct rigorous legal and cash flow analysis to communicate clear, insightful credit perspectives to the market.
• Collaborate with multiple teams across Moody's public finance sectors, such as local government, higher education, and healthcare.
• Participate in Rating Committees to contribute to analytical discussions for assigned credits and sectors.
• Build rapport with senior management teams and engage with investors and intermediaries to communicate key credit views.
• Produce topical, transparent, and forward-looking research regarding rated organizations, sector-wide themes, and cross-sector trends.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing advanced credit analysis or risk assessment, particularly in public finance sectors.
• Strong experience reading and analyzing legal documents, including indentures, loan agreements, and credit agreements.
• Proficiency in cash flow modeling, preferably related to bond transactions.
• Experience working directly with legal counsel, underwriters, and bankers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate credit views to stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree required in finance, economics, statistics, public policy, public finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or JD.
• Experience in gas and electric prepayment transactions and structures that include bank support.
• Understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and an interest in using AI tools to improve analytical efficiency.
